05 Dec Corvina REX collaborates in the contest Valencia Superchef
The second edition of Superchef, a wheelchair cooking contest organized by Ortopedias del Mediterráneo in Valencia, has included Corvina REX as the main ingredient of one of the recipes.
Mercavalència has been the scene of this gastronomic competition full of emotion and flavor since its managers have not hesitated to cede Mercaflor’s facilities for its celebration.
For its part, the Association of People with Spinal Cord Injury and other Physical Disabilities (ASPAYM) present in the Valencian Community has collaborated with the organization to develop this action aimed at cooking enthusiasts with reduced mobility.
Companies like Frescamar have made it possible to have all the necessary ingredients for the contestants to prepare their creations.
Thus, the aquaculture company has provided 14 kilos of Corvina REX while the Association of Fruit and Vegetable Wholesalers (AMAFRUVA) has provided the necessary ingredients to complete the dishes.
A healthy combination that has made the proposals as tasty as nutritious.
Finally, and so that the participants did not find any barrier when it comes to unleashing their culinary creativity, Valencia Club Cocina has assumed the challenge of providing the necessary infrastructure facilities (work benches, stoves, etc.) adapted to their needs.
Half a hundred contestants, a figure much higher than the previous edition, have prepared for two intense hours a team menu consisting of three starters and a dessert for 150 people.
At their side there have been different Valencian chefs, such as Carlos Julián of the Ampar restaurant, who have wanted to support these passionate chefs with whom they have identified so much.
